(1) Scroll

You can specify options related to the scrolling operation of the Remote Control window.

Scroll amount
Specify the following scroll amounts in pixels in the Remote Control window. The default scroll amount is 10 pixels.
  • The number of pixels the screen scrolls when you click an arrow button on a scroll bar.
  • The number of pixels the screen scrolls when you use a mouse scroll wheel.
  • The number of pixels the screen scrolls when you select the Scroll synchronized with the mouse pointer check box and create a scroll.

Disable wheel scroll
Select this check box when you want to disable scrolling with the mouse's scrolling wheel for the Remote Control window. Even if you choose this option, you can still wheel-scroll the scroll bar in the agent screen called into the Remote Control window.
Select this option when wheel scrolling is inconvenient because it moves both the Remote Control window and the agent's window at the same time.

Scroll synchronized with the mouse pointer
Select this check box to configure an agent to that it scrolls automatically when you move the mouse pointer close to the end of the window. By default, this check box is not selected.
If you select this check box, select one of the following scroll methods:
  • Always
When you move the mouse pointer close to a window edge, the window will always scroll automatically.
  • Only while dragging
When you move the mouse pointer close to a window edge, the window will scroll automatically if you are dragging. If you are not dragging, the window will not scroll automatically.

Scroll synchronized with the active window
Select this check box if you want any active agent window to scroll automatically so that it always is displayed within the controller's display area. By default, this check box is not selected.
This function is available only if the version of the agent connected to the controller is 06-00 or later.

(2) Window size

You can specify options related to the size of the Remote Control window.

Window size is variable
Select this check box when you do not want to fix the size of the controller's window.
When you specify fixing the window size, it will be adjusted to a size corresponding to the resolution of the agent's screen. Therefore, if you call up the screen of an agent with low resolution, the controller's toolbar and status bar will not be shown fully.

(3) Keyboard/Mouse

You can specify options related to the keyboard and mouse operations of the Remote Control window.

While dragging limit the mouse movement within the window
Select this check box if you want to contain the mouse pointer within the Remote Control window while dragging the mouse. This check box is cleared by default. The setting takes effect when the remote control mode is shared or exclusive.

Give priority to the controller's mouse button settings
Select this check box to assign priority to the controller's mouse button settings (for left or right hand use).
If the controller's mouse button settings are different from the agent's mouse button settings and this check box is not selected, mouse button operations on the controller will be interpreted as different operations on the agent. If this check box is selected, the controller's mouse button operations are performed correctly on the agent regardless of the agent's mouse button settings.
Leave this check box unselected to assign priority to the agent's mouse button settings.
This function is available if the version of the agent connected to the controller is 06-00 or later.

Send input of the system key
Select this check box if you want to enter a system key on the controller and execute the system key on the agent. By default, this check box is not selected.
With this check box selected, the following four key combinations can initiate respective operations directly on the agent.

Table 3-4 Key and key sequences that you can use to operate the agent from the controller by specifying settings on the Window page

Key or key sequence Function
Windows Opens the start menu.
Ctrl + Esc
Alt + Esc Switches active applications.
Alt + Tab Opens a dialog box for selecting an application.
Note that the key and key sequences listed above can be used only when the controller OS is Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows 2000, or Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 3 or later.

Set the double-click speed to match the controller
If you select this check box, the agent will recognize a double-click based on the controller double-click speed setting. You can see the double-click speed setting by choosing Control Panel, Mouse, and then Mouse Properties. By default, this check box is cleared.
If the agent does not recognize double-clicks when you run a certain application, clear this check box. The agent will then recognize double-clicks based on its own double-click speed setting.

(4) Zoom

You can specify options related to the keyboard and mouse operations of the Remote Control window.

Auto-zoom
Select this check box to automatically zoom the displayed agent window according to the size of the Remote Control window. By default, this option is unselected.
When you select this check box, you perform the same operation as when you choose View, Zoom, and then Auto-zoom from the Remote Control window menu. The selection status of the check box is linked to that of the Auto-zoom menu item.
To cancel the zoom, perform one of the following operations:
  • Clear this check box.
  • Clear the Auto-zoom menu item, and then choose Cancel.
If you select the Auto-zoom check box, set the image quality in the following Zoom priority section.

Zoom priority
Select Speed or Image quality for the image of the agent window that is auto-zoomed to the window size. By default, Speed is selected.
This setting is not only applied when the Auto-zoom check box is selected, but also when you choose View, Zoom, and then Zoom Out to Fit from the Remote Control window menu.
Speed
This performs high-speed zooming. However, the image quality is poor, and characters and icons are hard to see.
Image quality
This performs zooming with high-quality images. The display speed is slower than when selecting Speed, but characters and icons are clearer.
Note that the Image quality option is available only for the following versions of the controller: Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows NT 4.0.
