11.7 Using Local System Viewer

A client user can use Local System Viewer to check information in the local machine. With Local System Viewer, a client user can check the hardware and software information, and monitor the system and issue an alert if an error is detected.

Unlike other client facilities, the operation of Local System Viewer is not dependent on jobs from a managing server. Therefore, you can start Local System Viewer even when the client is not connected to a higher system and use it for system management.

To start Local System Viewer, from the JP1/Software Distribution Client program folder, select the Local System Viewer icon. The Local System Viewer window appears.

Reference note
If the System Monitoring icon ([Figure]) is displayed in the task bar notification area, you can start Local System Viewer by double-clicking or right-clicking this icon. For details about how to display and use the System Monitoring icon, see 11.8.3 Using the System Monitoring icon.

Notes about acquiring Weak password information
To use the Local System Viewer of a client whose OS is Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 or Windows Vista to acquire Weak password information, you must choose Run as administrator from the right-click menu, and then start Local System Viewer.
