4.3 Displaying inventory information

You can display system information, registry information, and user inventory information for all clients in table format. You can also display only the inventory items you need or only the clients that have specific information.

Inventory information is displayed in the following table-format window. When Inventory Viewer is started, the inventory information that is displayed reflects the previous display conditions.

The procedure for displaying inventory information is described as follows. The steps other than step 2 are the same as in the procedure for counting hosts; for details about these steps, see 4.2.1 Counting procedure through 4.2.5 Saving count conditions and view items in a template. When you reference these sections, keep in mind that counting hosts should be read as displaying.

To display inventory:

  1. In the Host-selection window, select the hosts you wish to display.
  2. From the Execute menu, choose Apply View.
The View wizard's first dialog box, the Condition Settings dialog box, appears.
  3. If you want to display only the clients that have specific inventory information, set the display conditions and click Next.
You can set the following inventory items as display conditions:
    • Installed packages
    • Software inventory
    • CPU type
    • OS
    • Usable system resource size
    • Usable user memory size
    • Free space, Partition size
    • Installed RAM
    • Video driver
    • Registry information
    • User inventory information
If you want to display information for all clients, you do not need to set any conditions.
The View wizard's second dialog box, the View Items Settings dialog box, appears.
If you click Execute instead of Next, Inventory Viewer displays information with the previous view item settings.
  4. Select the inventory items you wish to display, and click Save & Execute.
The Save Template dialog box appears.
If you click Execute instead of Save & Execute, Inventory Viewer displays information without saving the display conditions in a template.
  5. Specify the template in which you want to save the display conditions, and then click OK.
Inventory Viewer saves the display conditions you set with the View wizard in the specified template. Then, Inventory Viewer displays information on the basis of the display conditions.
The status bar at the bottom of Inventory Viewer displays the number of items currently displayed.
