4.2.5 Saving count conditions and view items in a template

This section explains how to save in a template a set of count conditions and view items you specified with the Count Client wizard. Once you save a set of count conditions in a template, you can perform the same count again with the same conditions by simply selecting the template. Templates are useful when you make frequent use of the same conditions for counts. Note that information about the hosts subject to being counted is not stored in the template. You must select hosts each time you use the template. For details about how to use templates, see 4.4 Using templates.

To save a set of count conditions and view items in a template, select the destination in the Save in drop-down list, specify a name for the template in the Template name text box, and click OK. The objects in the Save Template dialog box are explained below.

Save in
Use this drop-down list to select the destination for saving the template. You can save a template in the Count folder or in any subfolder under the Count folder. You cannot save a template in the Display folder or any of its subfolders.

Template name
Specify in this text box a name for the template. You cannot use spaces or the following characters in a template name:
! " # $ % & ' \ , ; : * / ? < > |

Clicking this button creates a new folder within the selected folder.
