6.1.3 Settings for browsing asset information from HP NNM Version 7.5 or earlier

This subsection describes the procedure for linking to HP NNM Version 7.5 or earlier and browsing details about node devices from the Network Presenter or node submap of HP NNM Version 7.5 or earlier.

  1. Set the items necessary for linking to HP NNM Version 7.5 or earlier.
During setup, you must specify the following items in the Server Setup dialog box.
    • Whether to display the Log in automatically from next time check box in the login window (basic information)
    • Setting of Open map name and Name of connection destination server for connecting to the Network Presenter of HP NNM version 7.5 or earlier (link with NNM)
For details about how to specify items in the Server Setup dialog box, see 5.3.4 Setting Basic Information and 5.3.8 Setting Link with NNM.
  2. Copy the settings file.
This is required in order to browse detailed device information from HP NNM Version 7.5 or earlier.
If HP NNM Version 7.5 or earlier is installed after Information Viewer is installed, copy the settings file to the specified folder. For details about copying the settings file, see 6.1.4 Copying the settings file.
  3. Set automatic login.
By using the Asset Information Manager Group and User job menu to pre-set user IDs and passwords to be used for linking Asset Information Manager, you do not need to enter the user ID and password but can log in automatically to browse details about devices managed by Asset Information Manager from Network Presenter or a submap window.
The user ID JP1_NNM and the user name Network manager are provided for linking to HP NNM Version 7.5 or earlier.
For details about setting passwords, see 4.1 Changing user and group information (Group and User) in the manual Administrator's Guide.
    Deleting automatic login settings
Once a password has been set, the automatic login setting can be deleted either by deleting the related user or by using the jamimport (import) command to change the password to a blank password.
For details about importing using the jamimport command, see 7.1.1(3) Flow of import using the jamimport command.
