2.5.12 Installing a package on an inactive client

If you install a package at night or on a weekend or holiday, a destination client may not be active and remote installation may fail or a specified job may not be executed. JP1/Software Distribution enables you to use the Client Control facility to start the destination client if it is inactive, and then execute the job. You can also specify that the client be shut down afterwards.

To use the Client Control facility to start the destination client, specify its use on the Client Control page in the Create Job dialog box when creating a job.

The following figure shows an example of installing a package on an inactive client.
