5.22 Create New JDBC Resource dialog box
Use the Create New JDBC Resource dialog box to create a new JDBC resource and associate the resource on the available target(s).

The Create New JDBC Resource dialog box displays the following items in a sequence:
- JNDI Name text box

Specify the name of the JDBC resource to be created. This is a mandatory item.
- Connection Pool list box

Select the desired Connection pool from the list of available connection pools. By default, the first pool name in the list box is selected. This is a mandatory item.
- Description text box

Specify the description for the JDBC resource that is to be created.
- After creation, enable the JDBC resource on selected target(s) check box

If the After creation, enable the JDBC resource on selected target(s) check box is selected or cleared, then the created JDBC resource is enabled or disabled respectively on the target(s) selected in the Name column. By default, this check box is selected.
The Create New JDBC Resource dialog box displays the following Additional Properties items in a tabular format:

Property Selector |
Displays a header check box and check boxes to select or clear the properties listed in the Name column. If the header check box of the Property Selector column is selected or cleared, then all the check boxes of the Property Selector column are selected or cleared respectively. |

Displays the name of the property. Click the desired property name to edit the name of the property. By default, this column is sorted in ascending order. |

Value |
Displays the value of the property. Click the desired property value to edit the value of the property. This column can be sorted. |

Description |
Displays the description of the property specified in the Name column. Click the desired property description to edit the description of the property. This column can be sorted. |
The Create New JDBC Resource dialog box displays the following Additional Properties action items for JDBC resources:
- Add button

Enables you to add additional properties to the JDBC resource. To create a new property row with default values, click the Add button. The default values applied to the Name, Value, and Description columns are "New Property Name", "New Property Value", and blank description respectively. You can edit the values specified in these columns.
- Delete button

To delete the selected additional properties using the Property Selector column, click the Delete button. By default, the Delete button is disabled. When no additional properties are selected through the Property Selector column, this button is disabled.

Displays a header check box and check boxes to select or clear the target server(s) listed in the Name column. If the header check box of the Server Selector column is selected or cleared, then all the check boxes in the Server Selector column are selected or cleared respectively. |

Displays a list of all the available clusters, Java EE servers, and the Domain Administration Server (DAS). The DAS is displayed only when it is enabled in the Settings tab. By default, this column is sorted in ascending order. |
The Create New JDBC Resource dialog box displays the following action items:
- OK button

To create a new JDBC resource with the name specified in the JNDI Name text box, click the OK button. If all the mandatory items are specified, then this button is enabled.
- Cancel button
-
To close the Create a New JDBC Resource dialog box without creating a new JDBC resource, click the Cancel button.
