4.30 Cluster Resource tab

Use the Cluster Resource tab to view and manage the resource(s) associated with the Java EE server(s) in the selected cluster and enable or disable the resource(s) on its targets. You can also start, stop, or restart the selected cluster.

The Cluster Resource tab displays the following dynamic items:

Sub title

Displays the name of the selected cluster, cluster state icon, and cluster state. The cluster can be in any one of the following states:

  • Working
  • Stopped
  • Partially Running

The state of the cluster is displayed based on the following conditions:

  • Working: If all the Java EE servers associated with the selected cluster are working.
  • Stopped: If all the Java EE servers associated with the selected cluster are stopped.
  • Partially Running: If the selected cluster contains both working and stopped Java EE servers.
Resource count

Displays (within parentheses) the total number of resources associated with the selected cluster.

The Cluster Resource tab displays the following Resource items in a tabular format:

JNDI Name

Displays the JNDI name of the resource(s) (along with a link button) associated with the selected cluster. Click this link button to display the general information of the corresponding resource in the JDBC Resource General tab (in the Configuration tab). By default, this column is sorted in ascending order.

Description

Displays the description of the resource(s) listed in the JNDI Name column. If the description of a resource is not available, then this column is blank. This column can be sorted.

Connection Pool

Displays the name of the connection pool (along with a link button) associated with the resource(s) listed in the JNDI Name column. Click this link button to display the general information of the corresponding connection pool in the JDBC Connection Pool General tab (in the Configuration tab). This column can be sorted.

Target

Displays the information of the target (along with a link button) on which the resource(s) are enabled. Click this link button to display the list of target(s) associated with the resource in the JDBC Resource Target tab (in the Configuration tab). The display format of the target information is " Enabled on count of targets on which resource is enabled of count of targets associated with the resource Target(s)". This column can be sorted.

Enabled

Displays check boxes to enable or disable the resource(s) listed in the JNDI Name column. If a resource is enabled on at least one target, then the corresponding check box is selected. If a resource is disabled on any of its targets, then the corresponding check box is cleared. To enable a resource, select the corresponding Enabled check box to display the Enable JDBC Resource dialog box, and then click the OK button. To disable a resource, clear the corresponding Enabled check box to display the Disable JDBC Resource dialog box, and then click the OK button. This column can be sorted.

The Cluster Resource tab displays the following action items:

Start Cluster button

To start the selected cluster, click the Start Cluster button to display the Start Cluster dialog box, and then click the OK button.

Stop Cluster button

To stop the selected cluster, click the Stop Cluster button to display the Stop Cluster dialog box, and then click the OK button.

Restart Cluster button

To restart the selected cluster, click the Restart Cluster button to display the Restart Cluster dialog box, and then click the OK button.
