Object root name |
The name of the host, storage, or other item located under a root node or system node. Host names in FQDN format are also supported. |
3 |
Category name |
A category name that groups objects to be managed. For details, see Table 3-3 List of categories. |

For details about the system node definition file, see System node definition file (imdd_systemnode.conf) in Chapter 2. Definition Files in the manual JP1/Integrated Management 3 - Manager Command, Definition File and API Reference.
- Note
-
The Intelligent Integrated Management Base uses actual host names to manage the structure of IM management nodes. Therefore, if you add a product whose host name can have an alias name to the structure of your IM management nodes, you need to map the alias name to the actual host name. When you map the alias name to the actual name, the actual name is displayed as the host name on the tree. As a result, you can group it into the same host on the tree if alias names vary depending on the management tools.
You can map an alias name to an actual host name by defining the alias name corresponding to the actual name in the host name definition file. For details about the host name definition file, see Host name definition file (imdd_host_name.conf) in Chapter 2. Definition Files in the manual JP1/Integrated Management 3 - Manager Command, Definition File and API Reference.
The following table lists and describes the categories defined by default.
