1.3.8 Select Separator Dialog

The Select Separator dialog is used to select separators that are specified as start separator, intervening separator, and end separators of a complex content element.

This dialog is displayed when you click the Select button present in the specification column of each separator in the Complex Content Element dialog (Separator tab).

Information

If there is a problem in the information that is entered in the Select Separator dialog, a message indicating the problem is displayed in the title bar of the dialog. Separator name list
Name

Displays the name of a defined separator.

Value

Displays the value of a defined separator. The value of the separator is enclosed within [ ].

Add button

Used when you want to add new characters as separators. The Add or Change Separator dialog is displayed.

Change button

Used when you want to change the name or value of an already defined separator. When you select a separator for changing the information from the Separator name list, and then click it, the Add or Change Separator dialog is displayed.

Note that you cannot change the information of the following separators:

  • LineFeed and Comma (separators that are initially specified)

  • A separator that is already specified as another separator in the same complex content element

Delete button

Used when you want to delete an already defined separator. When you select a separator from the Separator name list that you want to delete, and then click it, the selected separator is deleted.

Note that you cannot delete the following separators:

  • LineFeed and Comma (separators that are initially specified)

  • A separator that is already specified as another separator in the same complex content element

OK button

Commits the specified contents and closes the Select Separator dialog.

Cancel button

Closes the Select Separator dialog without committing the specified contents.
