15.2.1 Checking error job detailed information

If a job executed in JP1/IT Desktop Management 2 causes an error, you can use the Detailed Information dialog box displayed from the Job Status window of Remote Install Manager to check detailed information about the error.

The Job Status window displays job information for each level. To open the Detailed Information dialog box, display the lowest-level information in the Job Status window, select a job in the right pane, and then click View, and then Display Job Detailed Information. Alternatively, double-click the job in the right pane.

For example, for a job related to remote installation, double-click the package (which is the lowest-level information) to open the Detailed Information dialog box.

Information in the Description column includes the cause of the error and how to take action. The cause of the error is displayed as a maintenance code.

In the Description field, UNIX might appear in Error function, and a number might appear in Error reason, respectively. In such a case, this 4-digit number indicates the message ID posted by the UNIX version or the Mac version of JP1/IT Desktop Management 2 - Agent. For details about message IDs, see the JP1/IT Desktop Management 2 - Agent Description and User's Guide (For UNIX Systems).
