12.5 Managing backup files
If remote installation using the backup/restore function fails, restoration (file recovery) using backup files is usually executed automatically. In some cases, however, restoration might fail, or not be executed.
For packages created by the UNIX-version Packager, managed computers store the backup files that failed to be restored, according to the backup storage period specified during packaging.
You can handle stored backup files with commands. Check the backup files, and then delete files (or retry restoration) as needed.
The following table lists the commands that are used to manage stored backup files:
Command name |
Function |
---|---|
dmpbklst |
Outputs a list of backup files. |
dmpbkdel |
Deletes backup files. |
dmprcvry |
Retries restoration using stored backup files. |
