10.2.5 Setting up the Schedule page

The Schedule page allows you to specify job execution date and time for the managing server and managed computers.

Note that the specified execution date and time are monitored every minute, so that the execution may be delayed for one minute at the maximum.

Organization of this subsection

(1) Specifying the date and time when a job is executed on the managing server

You can select if the managing server executes a job immediately, or executes the job at a date and time you specified.

Immediate execution

Select this option if you want to execute a job immediately.

Server starts the job at specified date/time

Select this option if you want to execute a job at a specified date and time. You can also specify Registration date/time and Execution time limit of the job. To specify a date, enter the last two digits of the year. The system assumes 1900s if you specify 70 to 99, and 2000s if you specify 00 to 36.

Note that if you select Server starts the job at specified date/time for a job and save the job, the execution date/time setting of the saved job will be changed to Immediate execution when the job is executed with the menu or the F5 key after the job is saved.

Registration date/time

Specifies the date and time when the job was registered to the managing server. Select the checkbox if you want to specify the Registration date/time.

Scheduling many jobs at the same execution date and time may temporarily overload the managing server, and delay execution of the jobs. Specifying the Registration date/time can prevent this delay.

Execution date/time

Specifies the date and time when the job is executed.

Execution time limit

Specifies the time limit for execution of a job that was not executed at the specified date and time. Select the checkbox to specify the execution time limit.

Generally, a job is executed at the specified execution date and time, but the job may not be executed, for example, when the managing server is not running at the specified date and time. The job that was not executed will be executed when the managing server started the next time if the execution limit has not been passed. If the execution limit has passed, the job remains, and is treated as a job whose execution limit has passed. Check for and delete jobs whose execution limit has passed.

Note that if you execute a job by specifying the execution date and time in the managing server, avoid taking the actions below until the execution date and time. Such jobs cannot be executed, and the job definition is deleted.

(2) Specifying the date and time when a job is executed on the agent

Specify the date and time when a job is to be executed on the agent. You can specify the date and time of execution on agents only for the following jobs:

#

This job is also applicable to agents for Mac.

The following explains how to specify the date and time of job execution on agents. As is the case in specifying the date and time of job execution on managing servers, you can select whether to execute a job immediately or at a specified date and time.

Agent starts the job now

Select this option if you want to execute a job immediately.

Agent starts the job at specified date/time

Specify the date and time when the job is to be executed on the agent. For Year, enter the last two digits of the year. The system assumes 1900s if you specify 70 to 99, and 2000s if you specify 00 to 36.

Set the execute time

Specify the timing of job execution on the agent. For the Get software information from computer (UNIX) job, you can select only While System Is Running.

When System Starts up

Executes the job when the system on the agent starts. If you specify a date and time of execution, the job is executed when the system starts for the first time after the specified date and time.

While System Is Running

Executes the job while the system on the agent is running. If you specify a date and time of execution, the job is executed at the specified date and time. However, if the agent is not running at the specified date and time, the job will be executed next time the system starts.

When System Stops

Executes the job when the system on the agent terminates.
