7.6.6 Setting a distribution date and time in two stages

You might attempt to transfer packages from the managing server to a relay system or management relay server and then from the relay system or management relay server to managed computers when the relevant network is not congested. In such a case, you can sometimes transfer packages efficiently by specifying package transfer dates and times separately for each network. To do this, first execute a Transfer package to relay computer job to transfer packages to the relay system or management relay server, and then execute an Install package job. The execution date and time of the first job corresponds to the date and time of package transfers from the managing server to the relay system or management relay server. The execution date and time of the second job corresponds to the date and time of package transfers from the relay system or management relay server to the managed computers.

Specify a job execution date and time on the Schedule page of the Create Job dialog box during job creation.

The following figure illustrates an example of setting a distribution date and time in two stages.

Furthermore, you can also specify an installation date and time separately for each package, which makes it possible to specify a distribution date and time in three stages.
