[Figure]

Use the permissions and owner of the installation directory

Creates new files according to the access permissions of the remote installation target directory for a package. Moreover, if a directory to be packaged already exists in the remote installation target directory, it inherits the access permissions and owner of the existing directory.

To enable this setting when the remote installation target is an agent for UNIX, you must create a file for enabling file attributes on the agent for UNIX. For details about how to create files for enabling file attributes, see the JP1/IT Desktop Management 2 - Agent Description and User's Guide (For UNIX Systems).

If you do not create a file for enabling file attributes, the system will set the same file attributes as when you select Same as the JP1/ITDM2 standard values (access permission/owner).

Same as the JP1/ITDM2 standard values (access permission/owner)

Sets the standard access permissions and owner of JP1/IT Desktop Management 2. Values are set as below.

When the remote installation target is Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2016, Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, or Windows XP:
  • Folder and file access permissions

    Administrators: Full control

    SYSTEM: Full control

    Everyone: Read and execution

  • Folder and file owner: Administrators

When the remote installation target is UNIX:
  • File mode: 700 (only users with superuser privileges can read and write)

  • Owner: root

  • Group: sys

Use the permissions and owner of the directory on the packager

Restores the access permissions and owner of the packaging source to the installation target.

When the remote installation target is an agent for UNIX, this setting is disabled. If you specify this setting, the system will set the same file attributes as when you select Same as the JP1/ITDM2 standard values (access permission/owner).

Important

If you want to set the Use the permissions and owner of the directory on the packager option at the installation target, the owner of the files and directories to be packaged must be Administrators. Even for Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2003, make sure that the owner of files and directories is Administrators before packaging.
