JP1 Version 12 JP1/Integrated Management 2 - Manager GUI Reference

5.1.2 IM Configuration page

The IM Configuration page of the IM Configuration Management window displays the system hierarchy. The IM Configuration page has two parts: a tree display area in which the system hierarchy is displayed in a tree structure, and a node information display area in which detailed information about the nodes in a tree is displayed.

Figure 5‒7: IM Configuration page

[Figure]

Tree display area

Displays the system hierarchy in a tree structure. The following table describes the items displayed in the tree display area.

Table 5‒10: Items displayed in the tree display area (IM Configuration page)

Item

Description

Plus sign (+) icon

A plus sign (+) icon is displayed beside the name of a manager that has lower hosts.

If the plus sign (+) icon is clicked, the manager is expanded to show the lower hosts.

Minus sign (-) icon

A minus sign (-) icon is displayed beside the name of a manager that has lower hosts.

If the minus sign (-) icon is clicked, the expanded manager is collapsed to hide the lower hosts.

[Figure]

Indicates an integrated manager (local hosts and remote hosts). If an integrated manager has lower hosts, a plus sign (+) icon or a minus sign (-) icon is displayed beside the integrated manager.

When an integrated manager (remote host) is selected, lower host information for the integrated manager appears in the node information display area. If there are no hosts under the integrated manager, nothing is displayed in the area.

When an integrated manager (local host) is selected, detailed information about the integrated manager is displayed in the node information display area.

[Figure]

Indicates a relay manager. If a relay manager has lower hosts, a plus sign (+) icon or a minus sign (-) icon is displayed beside the relay manager.

When a relay manager is selected, detailed information about the relay manager is displayed in the node information display area.

[Figure]

Indicates a base manger. If a base manager has lower hosts, a plus sign (+) icon or a minus sign (-) icon is displayed beside the base manager. When configuring a hierarchy with a base manager, define the system hierarchy in the base manager first, and then synchronize the hierarchy between the integrated and base managers.

When a base manager (remote host) is selected, lower host information for the base manager is displayed in the node information display area. If there are no hosts under the base manager, nothing is displayed in the area.

When a base manager (local host) is selected, detailed information about the base manager is displayed in the node information display area.

[Figure]

Indicates an agent.

When an agent is selected, detailed information about the agent is displayed in the node information display area.

[Figure]

If any of the cases below applies, an icon indicating an error ([Figure])# is superimposed on the icon for an integrated manager, relay manager, base manager, or agent. [Figure] is an example of the error icon superimposed on the agent icon.

  • The system hierarchy has not been applied correctly.

This error icon is not displayed for cases where the distribution processing was not completed, such as the connection with JP1/Base failed or a timeout occurred.

  • The system hierarchy has not been verified correctly.

  • The results of system hierarchy verification do not match.

  • The profile has not been applied correctly.

  • The profile has not been collected correctly.

When the error icon is superimposed on an agent and the user clicks the agent, detailed information about the agent is displayed in the node information display area.

[Figure]

If the result of system hierarchy verification is not addressed because JP1/Base of the host is version 8 or earlier, an icon indicating that the configuration status is unknown ([Figure])# is superimposed on the icon for an integrated manager, relay manager, base manager, or agent. [Figure] is an example of the configuration-status-unknown icon superimposed on the agent icon.

The user can specify whether to display this icon by choosing Display from the menu bar in the IM Configuration Management window and then choosing Display Configuration Status Unknown Icon. The default setting is to display the icon.

When the error icon is superimposed on an agent and the user clicks the agent, detailed information about the agent is displayed in the node information display area.

[Figure]

Indicates agent monitoring.

[Figure]

Indicates remote monitoring.

#

If the conditions for displaying an error icon ([Figure]) and a configuration-status-unknown icon ([Figure]) are both met, the error icon ([Figure]) has precedence.

Node information display area

The node information display area of the IM Configuration page displays information about the node item selected in the tree display area. The user can change the information that is displayed by clicking one of the following four buttons.

[Figure] (Lower Host Information button)

Displays the hosts positioned lower than the selected host.

[Figure] (Basic Information button)

Displays the basic information about a host.

[Figure] (Product Information button)

Displays information about the product installed on the host.

[Figure] (Service Information button)

Displays information about the services running on the host.

Whether information can be displayed depends on the type of the host selected in the tree display area. The following table describes the relationship between hosts type and information that can be displayed.
