JP1 Version 12 JP1/Integrated Management 2 - Manager Overview and System Design Guide

3.5 Event management

The Intelligent Integrated Management Base displays events that occur on monitored hosts in Events of the integrated operation viewer.

The system administrator can view the events on the selected host in the event view by just clicking the monitored host. The system administrator does not have to set up a view filter for each monitored host, which can reduce the administrator's workload and improve operability of event management.

If a system failure occurs, the system administrator can see events related to the failure location that are narrowed down by the Intelligent Integrated Management Base by just clicking a failure location (such as a system, host, or application) displayed in the integrated operation viewer.

In addition, if an event guide is set for a JP1 event, the system administrator can view the guide for handling the event in the Event Detail dialog box. If guide information is in HTML format, the window of the linked product can be opened. For details about the event guide, see 12.1.10 Considerations for setting event guide information.

When an automated action has been executed for JP1 events, the automated action execution result does not show up under Events in the integrated operation viewer. Furthermore, you cannot add incidents to Events.
