1.1.2 Required software

The following subsections list web browsers and Java software that can be used in JP1/DH - Server.

Important
  • Java software is required only if you choose not to use the Send and Receive App (or App for short). For details about the App, see 2.3 Using the Send and Receive App. The default setting is to use the App.

  • Furthermore, you can check your environment by clicking Check Your Environment in the login window. For details, see 3.2 Checking the client environment.

  • If the settings of the web browser or Java control panel are specified incorrectly, JP1/DH - Server does not operate properly. For details about the settings of the web browser and Java control panel, see 3. Troubleshooting.

Organization of this subsection

(1) Web browsers (for Windows)

The following are the web browsers you can use if your OS is Windows:

If you use Internet Explorer, you need to enable the following functions:

  • Cookies

  • JavaScript (including the Ajax function and the DOM function)

  • Cascading style sheets (CSS)

  • SSL (HTTP Communication Encryption)

  • Java applet

If the web pages are not displayed correctly or other page layout errors occur in Internet Explorer, change the setting (on/off) for the Compatibility View function in addition to the above functions.

If you use Internet Explorer, set by using either of the following procedures:

  • Disable the enhanced protected mode.

  • Add the URL of this server to trusted sites and disable the protected mode for trusted sites.

(2) Web browsers (for Mac OS)

The following is the web browser you can use if your OS is Mac OS:

It is available in OS X 10.10.5 or later.

(3) Java software (When not using the Send and Receive App)

Any of the following Java software is required if you choose not to use the Send and Receive App:
