7.15.5 Notes on using the Format Definition Settings window

Note the following when using the Format Definition Settings window:

• You can only specify one base time in the definition of a daily or monthly format. If you use multiple base times in JP1/AJS, take measures such as collecting job operation information separately for each base time to prevent units with different base times from appearing in the same document.

• If a root jobnet operates under a 48-hour schedule in JP1/AJS3 - Manager, data will be displayed in a monthly document according to the display format settings on the View Settings tab of the Environment Settings window.

  The following examples show output if the scheduled date for jobnet execution is March 31^st:

  24-hour display system

  The job executed at 25:00 on March 31^st will be displayed at the April 1^st position.

  48-hour display system

  The job executed at 25:00 on March 31^st will be displayed at the March 31^st position.

• In a monthly document, the base time serves as the boundary between columns. For example, if the base time is 8:45, the column with the header 1 contains data for 8:45:00 on the first of the month to 8:44:59 on the second.

• In a daily document, the 0 minute mark serves as the column boundary. However, one of the columns in which the base time falls has an internal boundary at the base time. The following shows examples if the base time is 8:45:

  24-hour display system

  The column with the header 0 displays information for the time period from 0:00:00 to 0:59:59. The column with the header 8 displays information for the time period from 8:45:00 to 8:59:59 of the displayed day, and 8:00:00 to 8:44:59 of the following day.

  48-hour display system

  Two columns with the header 0 display information for the time period from 0:00:00 to 0:59:59.

  The first column with the header 8 displays information for the time period from 8:45:00 to 8:59:59 of the displayed day, and 8:00:00 to 8:44:59 two days later, while the second column with the header 8 displays information for the time period from 8:00:00 to 8:59:59 of the following day.

• If you set a base time in a daily document and the Set base time indicates the time at which a day starts check box is selected, the time axis in the document is linear, beginning and ending at the base time. When the check box is cleared, the time axis wraps back on itself at the base time. Examples are shown below.

  Example 1: If the base time is set to 16:20 based on the 24-hour display system, and Set base time indicates the time at which a day starts is selected

  

  Example 2: If the base time is set to 16:20 based on the 24-hour display system, and Set base time indicates the time at which a day starts is not selected

  

  Example 3: If the base time is set to 16:20 based on the 48-hour display system, and Set base time indicates the time at which a day starts is selected

  

  Example 4: If the base time is set to 16:20 based on the 48-hour display system, and Set base time indicates the time at which a day starts is not selected

  

• If a format definition file contains a column item that is not supported by the version of JP1/AJS3 - Print Option you are using, the item name is displayed in red in the Format Definition Settings window. If you output the document with the column item still in place, hyphens (-) appear indicating that there is no data for that column. If you use the Delete button to delete the item, you cannot add it again.

• JP1/AJS3 - Print Option applies UTF-8 conversion to format information before outputting it to a format definition file. Characters that cannot be converted are replaced with question marks (?).

• If a user without administrator privileges in an environment where UAC (User Account Control) is enabled, specifies a protected folder such as C:\Program Files as the output destination for the format definition file, the file might be redirected and saved to each user's VirtualStore folder.

  Files are redirected when the save destination is a folder in one of the following directories:

  • system-drive:\Windows

  • system-drive:\Program Files

  • system-drive:\Program Files (x86) (for 64bit Windows)

  The redirected files are stored in the following directories:

  • %LocalAppData%\VirtualStore\Windows

  • %LocalAppData%\VirtualStore\Program Files

  • %LocalAppData%\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)

  The default value of the %LocalAppData% is system-drive:\Users\OS-user-name\AppData\Local.

• If there is no relevant data, or if the unit type is not subject to column output, a blank space, a hyphen (-), or asterisks (***) will be displayed.
