2.3.6 Recovering the JP1/AJS3 - View setup information

The following lists the tasks required to recover the JP1/AJS3 - View setup information from the backup.

Organization of this subsection

(1) Installing JP1/AJS3 - View

If the JP1 environment has been damaged due to a corrupted disk or another problem, first install JP1/AJS3 - View.

(2) Recovering the setup information

Restore the backed-up files and folder to their appropriate destination file and folder locations in the new environment.

Cautionary note

Before you recover the folders, make sure that the following conditions exist:

  • JP1/AJS3 - View is installed.

  • JP1/AJS3 - View is not running.

The following table lists the files and folders you need to recover.

If the operating system, computer specifications, or amount of information to be displayed differs at the restoration target environment, instead of simply overwriting the existing file, review the estimated memory requirements and make adjustments as necessary. For details, see 11.2.5 Setting the amount of memory used in the JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Operator's Guide.

The default of %ALLUSERSPROFILE% is system-drive\ProgramData.

Recover this item if the multiuser remote desktop connection function is enabled. If changes were made to the user-specified option file (ajs2view_opt.conf), system common settings file (ajs2view_common.conf, ajs2coview_common.conf), or to a file specified in the wallpaper settings, repeat the changes in the new environment.

Recover this directory, but without the subfolders and files listed below.

  • ja folder

  • en folder

  • Cjobregm.exe

  • Cjobregm.exe.1000

  • CJNAME.cjx.model

  • CJX.xsd

  • *.dll

  • *.olb

Recover this item if the function that allows each JP1 user to use different custom jobs is enabled. For details about the function that allows each JP1 user to use different custom jobs, see 11.2.8 Allowing each JP1 user to use different custom jobs in the JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Operator's Guide.

(3) Recovering the custom job icons

Restore the backed-up icon gif files to their appropriate destination file locations in the new environment.

This step is required only if custom job icons were created.

Cautionary note

Before recovering the custom job icons, make sure that the following conditions exist:

  • JP1/AJS3 - View is installed.

  • JP1/AJS3 - View is not running.

The following table lists the files you need to recover.

This task is required only if icon image folders for JP1/AJS3 - View have been backed up.

Before you recover the folders, make sure that the following conditions exist:

  • JP1/AJS3 - View is installed.

  • JP1/AJS3 - View is not running.
