6.13 How to display the changes made as a result of editing

To display the changes that are made as a result of editing Operational Content, you must have Content Manager, Content Creator (when JP1/Base is used for user authentication), or Content Editor permission. These changes are displayed in the difference display window.

The following provides examples of using the difference display window:

To check whether the changes to Operational Content are correct:
  • With Content Creator permission or Content Editor permission:

Before you finish editing Operational Content, you can display the differences between the old and new versions. From the displayed differences, for example, you can check whether the new version has been edited as intended and necessary information is not deleted inadvertently.

  • With Content Manager permission:

Before you publish Operational Content, you can display the differences between the version you are going to publish and the currently-published version. From the displayed differenced, for example, you can check whether there are problems with the contents of the new version.

To check the change history of already published versions:

In the difference display window, the changes between the currently-published version and a previously-published version are framed in red or explanatory text. For example, you can check the locations where nodes are added or deleted in the Operational Flow, and the locations where the explanation in the guide area has been changed.

Note that in the difference display window, you cannot select the versions between which differences are to be displayed. The following table lists the combinations of versions that can be compared in the difference display window.

Important
  • If you have no versions other than the latest published version, there is nothing to compare it with. In such a case, the difference display window is not displayed.

  • The correct behavior of parts is not guaranteed in the difference display window. To verify the behavior of parts, use the preview function.

  • If parts (such as static-text parts and image parts) placed in Operational Content overlap, you might be unable to read the difference information of parts that are placed behind other parts.
