C. Glossary

Automatic Operation Property Output Plugin

A plugin provided by Navigation Platform that outputs properties of JP1/AO tasks to Operational Content.

Automatic Operation Service Execution Plugin

A plugin provided by Navigation Platform that allows you to submit JP1/AO services for immediate execution from within Operational Content.

Automatic Operation Window URL Creation Plugin

A plugin provided by Navigation Platform that acquires URLs for JP1/AO windows, allowing access to the JP1/AO main window or Submit Service dialog box from within Operational Content.

Branch Node

A node required to create an Operational Flow with branching steps. A Branch Node is represented by a diamond in Navigation Platform windows.

Content Creator

For cases where JP1/Base is used for user authentication, a user who has the creator's access permissions for Operational Contents.

Content Editor

A user who has permission to access Operational Content as an editor.

Content Manager

A user who has permission to access Operational Content as a manager.

Data Store Plugin

A plugin provided by Navigation Platform that can be used to exchange data between Guide Parts.

development environment

An environment in which plugins are developed. You must have JP1/Navigation Platform for Developers to use a development environment.

editing environment

An environment in which you can create and edit Operational Content, and assign access permission for Operational Content. You must have JP1/Navigation Platform to use the editing environment.

execution environment

The environment accessed by users who use Operational Content to perform an operation. You must have JP1/Navigation Platform to use an execution environment.

flow part

A component used to create Operational Flows. You can select a flow part from the Flow palette and place them in the operational flow area.

Guide

A type of Operational Content. A Guide is a description of the individual tasks performed as part of an operation.

Guide Part

A component used to create Guides. You can create a Guide by selecting Guide Parts from the Guide pallette and placing them in the guide area.

I/O Plugin

A plugin that processes the information input in the Navigation Platform windows, and determines what information to display in the windows. By using I/O Plugins, you can check the integrity of values input into a Guide, output the input values to external programs, or prepare them for recording as log data.

JavaScript Plugin

A plugin provided by Navigation Platform so that server-side JavaScript can run on a server or client-side JavaScript can run on a web browser (on a client) by using the value entered into Operational Contents by the user as a parameter.

JP1/AO

JP1/AO is an abbreviation for JP1/Automatic Operation, a product in the JP1 family. Its purpose is to automate the operation of increasingly sophisticated and complex IT systems.

JP1/Base

A program that provides event service functionality. Navigation Platform uses JP1/Base for user authentication.

JP1 Event information output plugin

A plugin provided by Navigation Platform that is used to display information managed by JP1/IM or JP1/IM-SS in relation to JP1 events, such as event IDs and product names.

JP1 Event Status Change Plugin

A plugin provided by Navigation Platform that can change the status of JP1 events managed by JP1/IM.

JP1/IM-M

JP1/IM-M is an abbreviation for JP1/Integrated Management - Manager and JP1/Integrated Management 2 - Manager, a product in the JP1 family. It enables integrated system management by facilitating the centralized monitoring and operation of an entire system. In this manual, JP1/IM-M and JP1/IM-V are collectively called JP1/IM.

JP1/IM-SS

JP1/IM-SS is an abbreviation for JP1/Service Support and JP1/Integrated Management - Service Support, which are products in the JP1 family. JP1/IM-SS has its conceptual basis in ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) practices, and was developed with the goal of reducing the workload and improving the efficiency of service support operations in the context of IT service management.

JP1/IM-V

JP1/IM-V is an abbreviation for JP1/Integrated Management - View and JP1/Integrated Management 2 - View, a product in the JP1 family. It provides the viewer functionality used to realize integrated system management in JP1/IM. You can use JP1/IM-V to connect to JP1/IM-M and monitor and manage systems.

JP1 Link Plugin

A plugin provided by Navigation Platform that provides a link between Operational Content and external programs. This plugin can exchange data with JP1 products such as JP1/IM and JP1/AO.

mapping line

An arrow that represents the input or output relationship between Guide Parts and Plugin Parts.

Navigation Platform

A collective term for JP1/Navigation Platform and JP1/Navigation Platform for Developers.

node

A component displayed in an Operational Flow that represents a step in the operation. There are three types of node: Terminal Nodes, Process Nodes, and Branch Nodes.

Offline Plugin

A plugin that does not communicate with a server. Offline Plugins include the following:

  • Data Store Plugin

  • JavaScript Plugin#

If using JavaScript Plugin offline, it is necessary to select the Execute in the browser check box in the Attribute Settings window of the JavaScript Plugin part in advance.

Online Plugin

A plugin that is not an Offline Plugin.

Operational Content

The information required to perform an operation. You can create and display Operational Content in the windows of Navigation Platform.

Operational Content Editing Window

A window of Navigation Platform in which you can perform the following operations:

  • Create, modify, copy, and delete Operational Content

  • Publish and unpublish Operational Content

  • Associate I/O Plugins

  • Set access permissions for Operational Content

Operational Content Execution Window

A window in which you can use Operational Content to perform an operation.

Operational Flow

A type of Operational Content. An Operational Flow is the flow of an operation presented as a flow chart.

part

A component placed in the Navigation Platform window.

plugin

A user program developed for use with Navigation Platform. Its purpose might be to link Navigation Platform with an external program, or to use certain extended functionality of Navigation Platform. Navigation Platform provides the interfaces required to develop plugins.

Plugin Part

A component that associates plugins with Operational Content. You can select Plugin Parts from the Plugins pallette and place them in the guide area.

Process Node

A node that represents an intermediate step in an operation. There must be at least one Process Node between Terminal Nodes. A Process Node is represented by a rectangle in Navigation Platform windows.

Published Version

Operational Content that has been published at least once.

relation line

An arrow that shows the transition from one node to another.

Service Support Window URL Creation Plugin

A plugin provided by Navigation Platform that acquires URLs for JP1/IM-SS windows. This plugin allows access to a preview window or Item edit window for a JP1/IM-SS item from within Operational Content.

System Plugin

A plugin provided by Navigation Platform that is required to link with external programs or between Guide Parts.

Terminal Node

A node that represents the start or end of an operation. A Terminal Node is placed at the beginning and end of an Operational Flow. A Terminal Node is represented by a circle in Navigation Platform windows.

User Plugin

A plugin developed by a developer using the API provided by Navigation Platform.

Version Being Edited

Operational Content that a Content Editor is in the process of editing or has finished editing.
