6.1 How to publish Operational Content

To publish Operational Content, you must have Content Manager permission. After you have completed Operational Content, in order for users to use it, you must perform the following tasks:

Even if Operational Content has been published, users without appropriate access permissions cannot view it. Also, even if the access permission groups or JP1 resource groups have been set up appropriately, users cannot view Operational Content that has not been published. For users to use Operational Content, make sure that: 1) the Operational Content has been published, and 2) the access permission groups or JP1 resource groups have been set up correctly.

Each piece of Operational Content that has been published is managed with versions and marked with the [Figure] icon.

The generations of Operational Content managed in this way are called Published Versions. Each piece of Operational Content can hold a maximum of five Published Versions. If you publish a piece of Operational Content when you have already had its five Published Versions, the oldest Published Version is deleted. Note that only the currently published versions are marked with the [Figure] icon.

Tip
  • The setting that the Content Manager can add to Operational Content is only either the access permission groups that are assigned the Content Manager role or JP1 resource groups. To redefine the access permission groups, ask the system administrator to do so. To redefine the JP1 resource groups, ask the JP1/Base system administrator to do so.

  • If the editing environment and execution environment are the same, users become able to use Operational Content as soon as the Content Manager finishes publishing the Operational Content.

If the editing environment and execution environment are different, first the Content Manager publishes Operational Content in the editing environment. Then, the system administrator exports the Operational Content data from the editing environment, and imports the data into the execution environment. Users become able to use the Operational Content when import to the execution environment finishes.
