The following describes the items in the Attribute Settings window.

Organization of this subsection

(1) Guide Part ID text box

For the Guide Part ID, enter a character string (no more than 20 single-byte characters) that uniquely identifies the Guide Part. Use the Guide Part ID text box when you change an automatically set Guide Part ID.

You can enter single-byte alphanumeric characters, single-byte hyphen (-), and single-byte underscore (_). When the Guide Part ID of the parent Guide Part is an empty character string, you can also enter an empty character string in this text box. When entering a character string other than an empty character string, enter a character string that is unique in the same guide area.

If this text box contains a value that has been set as the Guide Part ID of the parent of another drop-down part, you cannot change the value.

(2) Parent Guide Part ID text box

Enter a character string (of no more than 20 single-byte characters) as the Guide Part ID of the parent drop-down part. Enter a value in the Parent Guide Part ID text box when the drop-down part subject to the setting in this window has a parent-child relationship with another drop-down part and is the child drop-down part.

You cannot perform the following operations:

When you enter multiple elements in a text box, separate the elements from each other according to the following rules:

  • Separate each element by a single-byte comma (,).

  • If the value of an element includes a single-byte comma (,), enclose the whole element by single-byte double-quotation marks (" ").

  • If the value of an element includes a single-byte double-quotation mark ("), escape the quotation mark (by entering two quotation marks successively), and then enclose the whole element by single-byte double-quotation marks (" ").

The following shows an example of specifying labels of selections:

Washington D.C.,"New""York""","Los,Angeles"

These labels are displayed in the drop-down as shown below.
