In the Parent Guide Part ID text box, enter the Guide Part ID of the parent drop-down part.

Also, in the Parent value column in the setting area of the selections list, enter the value of a selection for the parent drop-down part. You can add a row in the setting area of the selections list by clicking the Add button.

  5. Enter the selections for the child drop-down part while separating them by a comma.

Enter those selections for the child drop-down part which correspond to the selections you entered for the parent drop-down part in step 4.

In the upper row in the Selections list column in the setting area of the selections list, enter a label (character string to be displayed). In the lower row, enter the value to uniquely identify the label.

  6. Click the Update button.

    The specified information is applied.

For details about the items in the Attribute Settings window, see 4.10.6 Items in the Attribute Settings window (drop-down part in the guide area).

Cautionary notes:
  • If you want to change the Guide Part ID of the parent drop-down part, cancel the reference relationship between the parent and child drop-down parts beforehand.

To cancel the reference relationship, in the Attribute Settings window for the child drop-down part, clear the Parent Guide Part ID text box, or delete the child drop-down part.

  • When the child drop-down part is copied, the Parent Guide Part ID text box in the Attribute Settings window for the copy of the child drop-down part is blank. Enter a necessary value in the Parent Guide Part ID text box.

  • When you delete the drop-down parts in a parent-child relationship, always delete the child drop-down part first. You can neither delete only the parent drop-down part nor delete the parent drop-down part first.
