3.5.2 Procedure for a new installation

This section explains the procedure for a new installation of Navigation Platform using the Hitachi Integrated Installer. Navigation Platform will be installed in a development environment, an editing environment, and an execution environment.

Important
  • The installation must be performed by a user with Windows administrator privileges. Start the installation by selecting Run as administrator.

  • Install only one of JP1/Navigation Platform or JP1/Navigation Platform for Developers product on a single machine. You cannot install multiple Navigation Platform products on the same machine.

  1. Insert the CD-ROM and execute HCD_INST.EXE.

  2. Click the Continue button to start the integrated installation process from Hitachi Integrated Installer.

  3. Confirm the settings, and then click the Install button to start the installation.

The software components required for Navigation Platform will be installed in order.

  4. Click the Next button on the installation start screen.

The destination selection screen will appear.

  5. Specify the location where you want to install Navigation Platform.

The default installation directory is as follows:

    OS-installation-drive:\Program Files\Hitachi\HNP

We recommend using the default directory displayed on the destination selection screen unless there is a particular need to deviate from the default. If you want to install Navigation Platform in a different directory, click the Browse button and select a directory.

Note that if you are migrating server machines, you must specify the same directory in the source (old) machine and the destination (new) machine.

  6. Click the Next button.

The user information settings screen appears.

  7. Enter the user name and company name and click the Next button.

The program folder selection screen appears.

  8. Select the program folder to be added to the programs in the Start menu.

The default, regardless of the type of product, is Navigation Platform Server. If you want to use a different folder, enter a folder name, or choose a directory from the list of existing folders.

  9. Click the Next button.

    The installation start screen appears.

  10. Review the installation information.

The current settings will be displayed. If there are settings you want to change, click the Back button, and change the settings.

When you click the Next button, the installation progress will be shown.

When the installation is done, you will see a dialog box informing you that the installation has been completed.

  11. Close the screen indicating that the installation has been completed.

  12. Once the installation is complete, restart the machine when the message appears prompting you to restart.

  13. Apply patches as necessary.

For details about how to apply patches, see 3.7 Procedure for applying patches.

Note:

If you cancel the installation or if an error occurs during the installation processing, Navigation Platform will be installed in an incomplete state. In such a case, either start the installation process again from the beginning, or uninstall as described in 3.8 Uninstalling Navigation Platform and then perform the installation again.
