5.3.4 Editing ID groups

After creating an ID group, you can edit it in the following ways on the managing server:

(1) Changing passwords and relays managing the ID

To change the relay that manages the ID or the password required to register a computer in the ID group:

  1. In the Destination window, from the File menu, select Change ID Group Attribute.

    The Change ID Group Attribute dialog box appears.

  2. Set the new relay managing the ID.

    Set the new relay or a new password.

  3. After changing the relay managing the ID, click OK.

    The relay managing the ID is changed.

    The system might take some time to process the change. If the new information does not appear in the Destination window, wait a while, and then from the Window menu, select Refresh to display the latest information.

(2) Deleting ID groups

To delete an ID group:

  1. In the Destination window, select the ID group that you want to delete, and from the File menu, select Delete ID Group.

    A confirmation dialog box appears.

  2. Click OK.

    The selected ID group is deleted. The deleted ID group remains in the Destination window in Now being deleted status. After the deletion process is complete, the ID group disappears from the window when you select Refresh from the Window menu.

(3) Removing computers from ID groups

To remove a computer from an ID group;

  1. In the Destination window, select the computer you want to remove, and from the Edit menu, select Delete.

    A confirmation dialog box appears.

  2. Click OK.

    The selected computer is removed. In a hierarchical system, the deletion process might take some time.

    The removed computer remains in the Destination window in Now being deleted status. After the process of removing the computer from the ID group is complete, the computer disappears from the window when you select Refresh from the Window menu.

(4) Registering ID groups in relays managing the ID

After creating ID groups on the managing server, you can register them in relays that manage the ID. You can register multiple ID groups in relay systems in one operation, which is useful when you add new relays managing the ID to the system.

For details about how to assign a relay managing the ID to an ID group, see (1) Changing passwords and relays managing the ID.

(a) Registering ID groups in relays that manage the ID

To register an ID group in a relay that manages the ID:

  1. In the System Configuration window, from the File menu, select Register or Delete ID from the Relay Managing the ID.

    The Register ID Group to Relay managing the ID dialog box appears.

  2. In the Unregistered ID groups area, select an ID group you want to register and then click the > button.

    The ID group is added to the Registered ID groups area.

  3. Click OK.

    The ID groups are added to the relay managing the ID.

(b) Removing an ID group from a relay managing the ID

To remove an ID group from a relay managing the ID:

  1. In the System Configuration window, from the File menu, select Register or Delete ID from the Relay Managing the ID.

    The Register ID Group to Relay managing the ID dialog box appears.

  2. Select the ID group you want to remove in the Registered ID groups area, and then click the < button.

    The ID group is removed from the Registered ID groups area.

  3. Click OK.

    The ID group is removed from the relay managing the ID.
