5.1.5 PFM - Web Console setup procedure
indicates setup items required according to each environment and optional setup items used to change default settings.
- Point:
-
The initialization file (config.xml) is used to set up the operating environment for PFM - Web Console.
- Organization of this subsection
(1) Setting up a language environment
Before setting up PFM - Web Console, make sure that your specified language environment is installed and configured correctly. If the language is not installed or configured correctly, you might encounter issues such as garbled characters or definition data being overwritten erroneously.
If the language setting of the system locale of the server differs from that of the usrconf.cfg file, PFM - Web Console may not operate properly. Before setting up PFM - Web Console, check the system locale and the usrconf.cfg file, and if the language setting differs from each other, change the setting in the usrconf.cfg file.
(a) Changing the settings in the usrconf.cfg file
-
Use a text editor or a similar tool to open the usrconf.cfg file.
The usrconf.cfg file is stored in the following folder:
Installation directory\CPSB\CC\web\containers\PFMWebConsole\usrconf
-
Edit the usrconf.cfg file.
You need to modify the parameters if the language setting was changed as follows:
-
From Japanese to a language other than Japanese
-
From a language other than Japanese to Japanese
-
From English to Chinese
-
From Chinese to English
For details about setting each parameter, see 5.1.5(1)(b) Parameters of the usrconf.cfg file.
-
-
Save usrconf.cfg by overwriting the file.
(b) Parameters of the usrconf.cfg file
You need to modify the following parameters when changing the language setting.
(c) Parameters of the usrconf.cfg file
You need to modify the following parameters when changing the language setting.
Item |
Description |
---|---|
add.jvm.arg=-Duser.language |
The default language setting used for PFM - Web Console. Values are as follows:
For Japanese, specify "ja". For others, specify "en". |
add.jvm.arg=-Duser.country |
The default country setting used for PFM - Web Console. Values are as follows:
For Japan, specify "JP". For others, specify "US". |
add.jvm.arg=-DprGB18030check |
The setting to use GB18030 as the encoding format of PFM - Web Console. Values are as follows:
When using Chinese (Simplified Chinese) and performing encoding in the GB18030 format, specify "true". In other cases, specify "false". |
(2) Registering PFM - Agent or PFM - RM
You must register PFM - Agent or PFM - RM in PFM - Web Console in order to perform integrated management of PFM - Agent or PFM - RM by using PFM - Manager and PFM - Web Console.
If the version of PFM - Web Console is 09-00 or later, PFM - Agent or PFM - RM is automatically registered, following the instructions described here is unnecessary. However, for PFM - Agent or PFM - RM released after PFM - Web Console, you might need to perform a manual registration. For details about whether you need to manually register PFM - Agent or PFM - RM, see the PFM - Web Console Release Notes.
- Notes:
-
-
You do not need to register PFM - Agent or PFM - RM when you add the same version of PFM - Agent or PFM - RM with the same product ID to a Performance Management system in which the PFM - Agent or PFM - RM information has been already registered.
-
Set up the latest version of PFM - Agent or PFM - RM if you install a different version of PFM - Agent or PFM - RM with the same product ID on a different host.
-
(a) Copying the PFM - Agent or PFM - RM setup file
Copy the setup file on a host that has PFM - Agent or PFM - RM onto a host that has PFM - Web Console installed.
To copy the PFM - Agent or PFM - RM setup file:
-
Stop PFM - Web Console if it is running.
-
Copy the setup file of PFM - Agent or PFM - RM in binary mode.
The following table shows the locations where files are stored and the location where files are to be copied.

(b) Executing the setup command in PFM - Web Console
Execute the following command on PFM - Web Console to set up PFM - Agent or PFM - RM.
jpcwagtsetup
You can delete the PFM - Agent or PFM - RM setup file on the PFM - Web Console host after this procedure has finished.
- Note:
-
Even though PFM - Web Console is installed on the same host as PFM - Agent or PFM - RM, you must execute the jpcwagtsetup command.
(3) Specifying settings for the network
The settings described in this subsection are required if you change settings based on the configuration of the network on which Performance Management is used.
You can set the following item in network settings.
-
Setting port numbers
You can set the port numbers used by PFM - Web Console.
For details about setting port numbers, see 5.4.7 Changing PFM - Web Console settings.
(4) Specifying settings in the initialization file (config.xml)
Settings required to operate PFM - Web Console are defined in the initialization file (config.xml). The settings described in this subsection are required when you want to change the initial settings in the initialization file.
In the config.xml file, you can set settings related to the PFM - Web Console log files and the maximum value of data displayed in the console windows. For details, see 5.4.7 Changing PFM - Web Console settings.
(5) Setting PFM - Manager for the connection destination of PFM - Web Console
Use the Windows initialization file (config.xml) to set PFM - Manager for the connection destination.
For details, see the section that describes the initialization file (config.xml) in the appendix of the manual Job Management Partner 1/Performance Management Reference.
(6) Creating an authentication key file for PFM - Web Console
If you want to execute the PFM - Web Console commands, you must first execute the jpcmkkey command. For details about the jpcmkkey command, see the chapter describing the command in the manual Job Management Partner 1/Performance Management Reference.
