8.9 Changing the user authentication method
The following describes how to change the user authentication method:
Who can perform this task:
Users with User Management permission
To change the user authentication method:

In the left pane of the Administration window, click Users and Permissions.

In the left pane of the Users and Permissions window, select Users.

In the right pane of the Users and Permissions window (User List view), select the check box next to the applicable user ID, and then click the Change Authentication Method button.

In the Change Authentication Method dialog box, select the user authentication method from the Authentication list box.
To authenticate users in JP1/AO, select Internal, in Active Directory, select LDAP.

In the Change Authentication Method dialog box, click the OK button.
The user authentication method has been changed.
- Important note

If you change the authentication method of a user whose password is not managed in JP1/AO from LDAP to Internal, the user is locked automatically, and is no longer able to log in to JP1/AO. If you set a password for the user in JP1/AO, or change the authentication method back to LDAP, the user is unlocked.
