8.8 Unlocking users

The following describes how to unlock a user. You can unlock users from the user interface or by using a command.

Who can perform this task:

From the user interface:

Users with User Management permission

Using a command:

Users who have Administrator permissions for the OS and User Management permission

To unlock a user from the user interface:

  1. In the left pane of the Administration window, click Users and Permissions.

  2. In the left pane of the Users and Permissions window, click Users.

  3. In the right pane of the Users and Permissions window (User List view), select the check box next to the user you want to unlock, and then click the Unlock Users button.

  4. In the Unlock Users dialog box, click the OK button.

To unlock a user by using a command:

  1. From the command prompt, execute the hcmdsunlockaccount command as follows:

    hcmdsunlockaccount /user user-ID /pass password

The user is no longer locked.

You can check the status of the user (Active) in the Status column of the User List view.
