4.2.1 Logging in and out of the remote management functionality

This subsection describes how to log in and log out of Remote Management.

Reference note
When you want to change the default timeout settings of the socket operation block, change the value before logging in to Management Server remote management. For details on the procedure to change the settings, see 2.6.2 Changing timeout settings for the socket operation block.

(1) Logging in to remote management

To log in to remote management:

  1. From the Eclipse menu bar, choose Window, and then Preferences.
  2. In the left pane tree view, choose Server, and then Remote Management.
    The Remote Management page appears.

  3. Select the host of the Management Server to be connected, and click the Login button.
    The Login - Remote Management dialog box appears if the authentication status of the management user is set as Enabled authentication in the management user settings of the Management Server.

    If the authentication status of the management user is set as Disabled authentication in the management user settings of Management Server, the Login - Remote Management dialog box does not appear, and therefore, you need not execute the procedure of step 4. Proceed to step 5.
  4. Specify the following items:
    Item name Specified value
    Administrator ID Specify the administrator ID to be used for logging in to the Management Server.
    Specify the administrator ID of the Management Server specified during setup done by using Development Environment Instant Setup. If Development Environment Instant Setup is not used for setup, specify the value used in the Management Server settings.
    Password Specify the management user password used when logging in to the Management Server.
    Specify the password of the Management Server specified during setup done by using Development Environment Instant Setup. If Development Environment Instant Setup is not used for setup, specify the value used in the Management Server settings.
  5. Click the OK button.
    You are connected to Remote Management.

(2) Logging out from Remote Management

To log out from Remote Management:

  1. From the Eclipse menu bar, choose Window, and then Preferences.
  2. In the left pane tree view, choose Server, and then Remote Management.
    The Remote Management page appears.
  3. Select the connected host.
  4. Click the Logout button.
    The Logout - Remote Management dialog box appears.
  5. Click the Yes button.
    You are logged out from Remote Management.
