Appendix C.1 Setting the search range

You can specify individual IP addresses or IP address groups when setting the search range. There are 5 ways to set the range.

  1. Specifying a single IP address.
    Example
    172.17.11.10
  2. Describe the IP address to the 3rd byte. For the last byte, specify 2 figures joined by a hyphen (-).
    Example
    172.17.11.10-20
Use this format when you want to perform a search within a group of consecutive IP addresses.
  3. Describe the IP address to the 3rd byte. For the last byte, specify multiple figures separated by comma (,).
    Example
    172.17.11.10,11,100,200
Use this format when you want to search within a group of non-consecutive IP addresses.
  4. Combination of the options (2) and (3).
    Example
    172.17.11.10,50-100,200
  5. Describe the IP address to the 3rd byte.
    Example
    172.17.11
Use this format when you want to conduct a search among all the IP addresses within the same subnet.

The table below shows the actual search range of each of the above specifications. The item numbers, shown in the table, correspond to the numbers of the search methods used above.
