3.4.2 Connection options

The next dialog box allows you to set options for connection or disconnection from the controller. In the Remote Control Agent - Properties dialog box, the Connection page serves as this dialog box.

(1) Port number

Specify the number of the port to be used at the agent side. Make sure to specify the same value as the controller you plan to connect with. The default port number is 30003.

(2) When not connected to any controller

Select the process the agent should take when all connections with the controller are severed. The default is The agent continues running.

The agent continues running
Leaves Remote Control Agent running and waits for a reconnection attempt. If the controller sends a reconnection request, the connection will be re-established.

The agent terminates
Automatically terminates Remote Control Agent when the connection with the last controller is severed. Even if the controller makes a reconnection request, the connection will not be re-established.

(3) Show a connection-confirmation dialog box

Select this check box to display the Confirm Connection Request dialog box that is used to notify the user of a connection request from the controller. The user can accept or reject the connection request from the controller in the Confirm Connection Request dialog box. By default, this check box is not selected (the dialog box is not displayed).

Show the dialog box for
Specify a value from 0 to 180 seconds as the time allowed for the user to accept or reject the connection request. If you specify 0, the dialog box is displayed until the user replies. The default value is 10 seconds.
If the user does not reply during the time specified here, the connection request is accepted or rejected depending on the value assigned to After period elapses.

After period elapses
Specify whether to accept or reject the connection request from the controller if no user response is received within the time specified in Show the dialog box for.
Permit connection
Accepts the connection request.
Reject connection
Rejects the connection request.

Show the dialog box at
Specify where to display the Confirm Connection Request dialog box on the desktop window. You can select Center, Top left, Top right, Bottom left, or Bottom right. The default is Bottom right.
