rdsafenv

The rdsafenv command sets the environment, and initializes and deletes management files.

Description

This command sets an operating environment for JP1/Software Distribution Client according to the contents of the settings file /NETMAF/dmprm/RDMSET (for platforms other than HP-UX) or /etc/opt/NETMAF/dmprm/RDMSET (for HP-UX). Use this command to modify information that is already set as well. Only the user who first set an environment or a superuser can use this command for a second or subsequent operation.

This command executes functions 1 and 2 listed below in addition to environment setting:

  1. Initializes JP1/Software Distribution Client management files.
  2. Deletes JP1/Software Distribution Client management files.

Use this command when JP1/Software Distribution Client is in a stop status.

Format

  1. Setting the environment and initializing a management file
    rdsafenv[-i]
        [-f settings-file-name]
  2. Setting the environment and deleting a management file
    rdsafenv -r
         -k management-file-type

Options

-f settings-file-name ~ <alphanumeric characters> ((1 to 128 characters))
Specify a settings file name when using a settings file arbitrarily named by the user.

-i
Specify this option to simultaneously set an environment and initialize the JP1/Software Distribution Client management files. However, the first time the environment is set up, the system automatically initializes the JP1/Software Distribution Client management files. If an attempt to set an operating environment fails, the system does not initialize the management files.
The management files to be initialized are job management files and operation information files.

-k management-file-type ~ ((G, X))
Specify the type of management files you want to delete.

This option specifies the deletion of management files.

End code

End code Meaning
0 Command processing terminated normally.
253 Parameter error
254 An attempt to initialize or delete management files failed.
255 An attempt to set or modify an operating environment failed.
