Appendix C.3 Tool-starting operation example

The figure below shows an operation example of starting a tool for executing ping to the host identified by the IP address given as the argument. The tool is started from Remote Installation Manager.

To use the PING tool from Remote Installation Manager:

  1. Register the tool.
    In the Tool Registration dialog box, register the PING tool in the menu of Remote Installation Manager.
    To use an IP address as the argument, specify $(ADDRESS) for Argument.
  2. Start the tool.
    In Remote Installation Manager, select host CLT002 and start the PING tool from the menu.
    The IP address 192.168.24.12 is passed from the system configuration information of CLT002 as the argument to be used by the tool.
  3. Check the tool execution result.
    When the PING tool is executed for CLT002 which has an IP address of 192.168.24.12, check the execution result.
