Appendix C.2 Starting a tool from a menu

This section explains how to start a tool from a menu in Remote Installation Manager.

To start a tool:

  1. In the System Configuration, Destination or Directory Information window, or in the Find dialog box, select a host.
A tool can be started only when a host is selected. If an ID or host group is selected along with a host, a tool cannot be started for the ID or host group. If multiple hosts are selected and a tool is started, the tool is started for each of the selected hosts. For example, if you select 10 hosts and start a tool, the same tool is started 10 times. Note that selecting many hosts simultaneously and starting a tool uses a large amount of memory and may cause the system to become unstable.
  2. From the menu displayed when the Options menu is clicked or when the right mouse button is clicked, select Start Tools.
In the Find dialog box, you can display the menu by simply clicking the right mouse button.
