Job Management Partner 1/Software Distribution Administrator's Guide Volume 1
The Installed Software window enables you to verify the software that is already installed on the client.
Figure 11-16 Installed Software window
The icon that appears to the left of the name of a software program indicates the type of software:
When ordinary software (Hitachi program products, other companies' software, as well as user programs and data) is upgraded using the differing-components distribution facility of JP1 Version 7i or older, all packages are treated as differing-components packages. Note that differing-components packages are software types that are supported only by JP1/Software Distribution of JP1 Version 7i or older. In JP1 Version 8 or newer, differing-components packages cannot be remotely installed.
The Installed Software window displays packages that have been remotely installed by JP1/Software Distribution. However, by choosing Execute and then Collect Software Information and Update, you can also display additional, locally installed software on the client. Because the information displayed in this window can be verified by the higher system, you should periodically display locally installed software as well. Any remotely installed packages that have been uninstalled from the client should be deleted from this list.
You can set the types of software to be displayed by selecting the software ID from the View menu, choose Filter Software and then any of the following items: In the default setting, all items are selected. For the details of the software ID, see 3.2.6 Checking collected software information.
Information displayed in this window is updated at the following times:
The installation information displayed in this window is linked to the Package window for Package Setup Manager. If software displayed in the Package window is locally installed, the icon for the applicable package in the Package window is also displayed with a circle, indicating that installation is complete.
