9.1.3 Setting the output range of a CSV file

To output the inventory to a CSV file with a relational database, specify the output range in the CSV Output Utility dialog box. This section shows the method of setting the output range in the CSV Output Utility dialog box.

Organization of this subsection
(1) Select the template
(2) Select the data
(3) Specify output constraints
(4) Set the range of hosts to be output
(5) Specify the output file

(1) Select the template

Select the name of the template for output in CSV format.

(2) Select the data

Specify the items to be output to columns in the file. This dialog box is displayed when the selected template is Host attributes, System information, Installed package information, Job status, or Anti-virus products.

In the system information template, Disk details and Total sizes are generic names for more than one item.

(3) Specify output constraints

Specify the output constraints for the information that is to be output to rows in the file. The following dialog box is displayed when the selected template is System information, Installed package information, Job status, or Anti-Virus products.

Figure 9-1 CSV Output Utility - Specify output constraints dialog box

[Figure]

Select a check box on the left side and then set values. Information is output according to the specified conditions. When the system information or anti-virus products template is used, information is output for each host. When the installed package information template is used, information is output for each package. When the job status template is used, information is output for each job.

Data item
Specify the name of the item to be compared. You can select up to three items.

Comparison
Select a comparison condition.

Value
In a Value box, specify one or more values for the comparison with the item. The following specification rules apply:
  • To specify more than one value, separate them with a comma (,); for example, value-1,value-2,value-3,value-4
  • To specify a range of values, use >; for example, value-1>value-2
  • You can use the wildcards * and ?. * can represent any number of characters, and ? represents any single character.
For the system information template, specify numeric values in the Value boxes for the following items. For these items, you cannot select using wild cards or without wild cards from the Comparison list.
  • Installed RAM (megabytes)
  • CPU clock speed (MHz)
  • Number of processors (number)
  • Free space (megabytes)
  • Total size of partitions (megabytes)
  • Usable user memory size (megabytes)
  • Usable system resource size (kilobytes)
  • VRAM (megabytes)
  • Memory slot capacity (megabytes)
  • Available physical memory (megabytes)
  • Total capacity of virtual memory (megabytes)
  • Available virtual memory (megabytes)
  • Page file capacity (megabytes)
  • Speed of external clock for CPU (MHz)
  • Hard disk capacity (megabytes)
  • Number of hard disk partitions (number)
  • Number of mouse buttons (number)
Some items require that you specify a value in a date format.
For the installed package information template, use a date format to specify a value for the following item:
Installation or search date/time
For the job status template, use a date format to specify a value for the following items:
Execution date/time at the server
Scheduled execution date/time at the server
Execution time limit at the server
Scheduled registration date/time at the server
Job execution date/time by destination
Anti-virus products template
Search date
Installation date#
The date format is YYYYMMDDhhmm, which consists of only numbers and does not include any delimiters. The four-digit year YYYY is required. If you do not specify any value for the parameters other than YYYY, they are set to minimum values. An error occurs if you specify single-digit values (for example, you must specify January 1 as 0101). The following examples show how to specify a date value correctly:
#
The date format for anti-virus programs is YYYYMMDD, which consists of numbers only. Although the date specification method is the same as that used for the YYYYMMDDhhmm format, an error occurs if you enter values in hh and mm.
Date specification examples follow.
200
Error
2003
0:00 on January 1, 2003
2003101
Error
20031010
0:00 on October 10, 1999
200301010101
1:01 on January 1, 2000
200312312359
23:59 on December 31, 1999
Note that you cannot specify equals, not, is included in, using wild cards, is not among, or without wild cards as a Comparison condition for items that require a value in a date format.
For the following items, specify a value displayed in the Comment box. You cannot use wildcards or specify a range of values for these items.
System information template
  • CPU type
  • OS
  • Client
  • Domain type
  • DHCP
Anti-virus products template
  • Language
  • Resident setting

AND/OR
Select AND or OR as a logical operator when more than one condition is specified.
  • AND
Outputs information only if both conditions are true.
  • OR
Outputs information if either condition is true.
When you specify more than one condition, select the check boxes to the left of the second and the following conditions, then set the conditions to be combined.

Comment
When you change the selection in Data item or Comparison, the explanation displayed here changes accordingly.

(4) Set the range of hosts to be output

Specify the range of hosts to be output if you want to output inventory information about hosts belonging to a specified host group, ID group, or relay (relay manager or relay system). If no range is set, all hosts are subject to output. This dialog box is displayed only if you select the template of Host attributes, System information, Installed package information, User inventory information, Registry collection item, User information, Software inventory, Microsoft Office products, anti-virus products, or start suppression log.

You can directly enter the path hosts whose information is to be output. Enter the path from the root and use the backslash (\) as the delimiter. Note that a host name must be specified with the name displayed in the Software Distribution window of Remote Installation Manager.
There are restrictions on the path specification, depending on the output target. The path specification restrictions for each output target are described below.
The output target is a host group:
  • None of the following characters can be used:
    / * " ' : ! | . < > ? @ %
  • The backslash (\) can be used only as a delimiter in a path specification.
  • The maximum number of hierarchical levels is 6.
  • The first character cannot be a comma (,).
The output target is an ID group:
  • None of the following characters can be used:
    / * " ' : ! | . < > ? @ %
  • The backslash (\) can be used only as a delimiter in a path specification.
  • The first character cannot be a comma (,).
The output target is a system configuration:
  • Neither the space nor any of the following characters can be used:
    ! " $ % & ' ( ) = ~ | ^ [ ] { } : ; + * _ / ? > < , @ ` "
  • The backslash (\) can be used only as a delimiter in a path specification.
  • The maximum number of hierarchical levels is 6.
  • The first character cannot be a comma (,).
