If the client deletes unneeded software after the managing server has collected the information by executing a Get software information from client job, the information in the managing server may no longer match the information held by the client. In such a case, you can delete the software information collected in the managing server.

However, you cannot delete software information collected using Search for Microsoft Office products or Search for anti-virus products. To update these types of information, re-execute the Get software information from client job with Search for Microsoft Office products or Search for anti-virus products specified.

1. In the left-hand frame of the System Configuration, Destination or Directory Information window, select the host whose software information is to be displayed.
2. In the right-hand pane, select the Installed Packages tab (or the Software Inventory tab).
   The information about the installed software is displayed.
   
3. Select the software whose information is to be deleted.
   To delete all installed-package or software-inventory information, there is no need to select an installed package here.
   
4. From the Edit menu, choose Delete Installed Package Information (Delete Software Inventory if the search was by file name).
   Depending on the menu selection, either the Delete Installed Package Information dialog box or the Delete Software Inventory dialog box appears.

5. Select the information to be deleted.
   

   Installed package information (or Software inventory information)

   Displays the selected software information as deletion candidates. No information is displayed if software information collected using Search for Microsoft Office products or Search for anti-virus products was selected in the Software Inventory page.

   To delete all information, select the check box for Delete the information of all packages (all software information).

   Host

   Displays the clients from which installed package information (software inventory information) can be deleted. If there is no item to be displayed, the check box for Delete the information of all hosts is selected.

   Not to be Deleted

   Choosing this button removes the installed packages (software inventories) or clients being displayed as deletion targets.

   To be Deleted

   Choosing this button reinstates as deletion targets the installed packages (software inventories) or clients that were removed from being deletion targets.

6. Choose OK.
   The information is deleted according to the items specified.
