A relay system stores all package files that are to be transferred to each client system. This may cause a shortage of disk space because the package files not deleted until the Package expiration at the relay system specified with Packager is reached. If a hard disk space shortage occurs at a relay system, job relay will terminate with an error during job execution. If this happens, you must do one of the following to delete unneeded packages:
- At the relay system, delete unneeded packages
Delete unneeded packages from Remote Installation Manager in the relay system.
- Execute a Batch delete packages on relay system job from the managing server
This method is effective when all the packages can be deleted from the relay system.
- From the managing server, select a package in the relay system and delete it
This method uses the Delete Package on Relay System dialog box from the managing server's Remote Installation Manager to select and delete an applicable package while checking the size of each package file. The procedure is described below. Note that this function is not available at a UNIX relay system that does not use the distributor tools.
- Activate the System Configuration or Package window, and from the Edit menu, choose Delete Packages from Relay System.
The Delete Package on Relay System dialog box appears.
- Set the name of the relay system to be connected, then select Connect.
A list of packages in the relay system appears.
- Select a package to be deleted.
The selected package is displayed in reverse video with its package information (version, package ID, generation number, size, expiration date).
- Choose Delete.
A dialog box appears, requesting confirmation of the deletion request.
- Choose OK.
The package is deleted.
