11.9.3 Error during software distribution

This section describes the errors that may occur during software distribution, and their principal causes and actions.

Organization of this subsection
(1) When a package is added in the Software Applied window, an error message such as "Unable to display JP1/Software Distribution Package" is displayed
(2) When the contents of a cabinet are displayed in the Select Cabinet dialog box, an error message such as "Unable to display JP1/Software Distribution Package" is displayed
(3) When the Distribution Status job menu is selected or the execution status of a job is viewed in the Distribution Status window, an error message such as "Unable to display distribution status" is displayed
(4) Software cannot be distributed in the Software Applied window
(5) In the Distribution Status window, a job cannot be deleted or re-executed
(6) When the Item Software Distribution Application Form is used, software distribution cannot be executed

(4) Software cannot be distributed in the Software Applied window

The connection destination may be a database other than JP1/Software Distribution. Make sure the following settings are correct: the database connection settings, JP1/SD database login ID and password under Link with JP1/SD in the Server Setup dialog box, and Connection service for JP1/SD database.

If an error message beginning with KDAM2G15-E such as Error occurred in JP1/Software Distribution's dmAPIOpenEx(). See the JP1/Software Distribution logs. is output to a log, set up Remote Installation Manager by installing it in the asset management server. (5) In the Distribution Status window, a job cannot be deleted or re-executed

The connection target may not be a JP1/Software Distribution database, or connection settings may be invalid. Specify the correct database connection settings, and in the Server Setup dialog box, correctly specify JP1/SD database login ID and Connection service for JP1/SD database in Link with JP1/SD.

(6) When the Item Software Distribution Application Form is used, software distribution cannot be executed

If the message An error occurred in dmAPIOpenEx() of JP1/Software Distribution. See the JP1/Software Distribution log. that begins with KDAM2G15-E is output to the log, install Remote Installation Manager in the asset management server and create a Remote Installation Manager data source.
