9.6.5 Adding items to be acquired from inventory information

This section describes how to set assigned items based on an example of adding the System Information BIOS version to the managed items for asset information.

To set assigned items:

  1. In the Assign Inventory window, which is displayed by selecting the Assign inventory job menu, click the Browse button for Asset information.User property field 128-1.
    The Assign Inventory - Assigned Item List dialog box appears.
    This dialog box displays the items that are assigned to Asset Information Manager's managed items. The items displayed depends on the managed items.
    • Do not set
      Select this option to not assign items acquired from the inventory information.
    • System Configuration Information
      Select this option to register a system configuration item, and then select an item from the drop-down list.
    • System Information
      Select this option to register a system information item, and then select an item from the drop-down list.
    • Get from the user inventory
      Select this option to register a user inventory item, and then specify the name of the user inventory item.
    • Get from the registry
      Select this option to register a registry item, and then specify the name of the registry collection item.
    • Constant value
      Select this option to register fixed information regardless of the inventory information, and then specify its value.
  2. From the items displayed in Assigned items, select System Information.
  3. From the drop-down list, select BIOS version.
  4. Click the OK button.
    The Assign Inventory - Assigned Item List dialog box closes, and BIOS version is set in the Assigned items field.
  5. Click the Update button.
    The assignment settings take effect.

To view the added information in the window, you must specify applicable settings with Customize Managed Items and Customize Job Windows.

To add items acquired from inventory information to user property code
To add the items to be assigned to User property code-1 through User property code-12, add the codes to be assigned to the corresponding class property beforehand. If a code to be assigned is undefined, Code is displayed in inactive mode in the Assign Inventory - Assigned Item List dialog box.

When inventory information is registered, if no code corresponds to information acquired from JP1/Software Distribution, null is set. In such a case, any existing information is overwritten.
