By linking to HP NNM version 7.5 or earlier, Asset Information Manager can acquire the node information managed by HP NNM version 7.5 or earlier and display a monitoring diagram and detailed device information from HP NNM version 7.5 or earlier. In this way, you can manage network-connected devices along with network configuration information.

The following figure shows the asset management tasks that can be performed by linking to HP NNM Version 7.5 or earlier.

• Importing the node information acquired by HP NNM Version 7.5 or earlier to the asset management database in order to use it for various asset management tasks
  You can periodically register the node information collected by HP NNM Version 7.5 or earlier using Task Scheduler's Take node information task. For details about the node information, see 13.3 Node information that can be acquired from HP NNM Version 7.5 or earlier.
  
• Browsing the maps
  You can view the maps containing a target device by displaying the Network Presenter of HP NNM Version 7.5 or earlier from the Device List window and Device Details dialog box. The maps contain the network devices that are detected by HP NNM Version 7.5 or earlier, and can be used to view information such as network problems.
  
• Displaying detailed device information from HP NNM Version 7.5 or earlier
  You can use the Network Presenter or Submap Window of HP NNM Version 7.5 or earlier to view detailed information about devices corresponding to each node.
