3.5 Setting up the Web browser

This section explains how to set up the Web browser.

(1) Setting up cookies

Since JP1/AJS3 - Web Operation Assistant makes use of cookies, the Web browser must be set up to accept them. To change the cookie settings, from Internet Explorer, choose Internet Options, and then choose Privacy. For details about how to set up cookies, see the help for Internet Explorer.

If the Web browser cannot accept cookies, JP1/AJS3 - Web Operation Assistant logon cannot be performed. Also, if cookies are disabled after logon, statuses can no longer be obtained and operation can no longer be performed.

(2) Setting up SSL transmission

Since it is necessary to be able to use SSL in the web browser when using SSL communication, it is necessary to select one of the following setting items in Security, found by selecting Internet Options and then Advanced in Internet Explorer.

If the Web browser is not configured to use SSL, the Login window will not be displayed even when a URL for SSL transmission is accessed. Also, if SSL is disabled during monitoring, statuses can no longer be obtained and operation can no longer be performed.

(3) Setting JP1/AJS3 - View or JP1/AJS2 - View to be started from the Monitor window

JP1/AJS3 - Web Operation Assistant uses ActiveX controls to start JP1/AJS3 - View or JP1/AJS2 - View from the Monitor window.

To use the function that starts JP1/AJS3 - View or JP1/AJS2 - View from the Monitor window, in Internet Explorer, from Internet Options, choose Security, and enable all of the settings for Active X controls and plug-ins. If any of these settings is disabled, an attempt to start JP1/AJS3 - View or JP1/AJS2 - View will fail.

(4) Setting Active Script

JP1/AJS3 - Web Operation Assistant uses Active Script. To enable login to JP1/AJS3 - Web Operation Assistant, in Internet Explorer, from Internet Options, choose Security, and then select the Enable option for Active scripting. If you disable the Active script setting after logging in to the system, you can no longer acquire the status or perform operations.
