2.3 Setup for linking mail systems (for a UNIX host)

Linking JP1/AJS3 with email using the SMTP mail system is called mail system linkage.

A UNIX host that links with a mail system must include the sendmail function. You also must set up the host so that it can send and receive email (that conforms to RFC822) delivered from an SMTP mail server.

Set up a mail server having the sendmail function in the host containing JP1/AJS3 - Manager or JP1/AJS3 - Agent that will be used to execute email sending/receiving jobs for linking mail systems.

The following figure shows an example of a system configuration for linking with mail systems.

The following figure shows the agent host setup procedures for linking mail systems. Note that you need not set up the manager host for the mail system linkage.
