4.3 Edit Host Properties window

The Edit Host Properties window is used to edit the attribute of the host that is registered in the system hierarchy managed by IM Configuration Management. If the user who is currently logged in does not have permission to update the host attribute, host properties cannot be edited.

The following describes the items displayed in the Edit Host Properties window. An item with an asterisk (*) must be specified.

Host name
The user enters a new host name. From 1 to 255 bytes can be specified. The specifiable characters are alphanumeric characters, hyphens (-), and periods (.). Note that the host name cannot end with a hyphen (-) or a period (.).

IP address
The IP address of the host is automatically entered. The user cannot type an IP address.

Comment
The user can enter a new comment. From 0 to 80 bytes can be entered.

Host type
Physical host, Logical host, Virtual host, or Unknown can be selected as a new host type. Associated hosts can be entered, depending on the host type.

The display changes, depending on the selected host type, to allow associated hosts to be entered.

When Physical host or Unknown is selected:

Active host
The user enters the name of the active logical host. From 0 to 255 bytes can be specified. The specifiable characters are alphanumeric characters, hyphens (-), and periods (.).

Standby host
The user enters the name of the standby host. Multiple host names require a comma (,) as a separator. A maximum of four host names can be entered. From 0 to 1,024 bytes can be specified. The specifiable characters are alphanumeric characters, hyphens (-), periods (.), and commas (,).

When Virtual host is selected:

VMM host
The user enters the name of the host on which VMM is running. From 1 to 255 bytes can be specified. The specifiable characters are alphanumeric characters, hyphens (-), and periods (.).
