(1) Icon

You can select icons for the title bars of the message windows to be displayed at the job destination. From Information, Caution, and Warning, select the ones appropriate for the message content. In the default setting, Information is selected.

The following table shows icon usage examples.

(2) Title

Specify a maximum of 64 characters for the title of the message window to be displayed at the job destination. You must specify a title. In the default setting, no title is specified.

(3) Format

Specify the file format of the messages to be displayed at clients. You can select text format or HTML format. In the default setting, text format is specified.

(4) Text

Specify a maximum of 65,536 characters for the message text to be displayed at the job destination. In the default setting, no message text is specified.

If you are using text format and you specify a URL or email address in the message text, a link will be set in the URL or email address character string at the job destination. If you are using HTML format, a URL or email address link that is directly specified in the message text will not be set. You can set a link tag to set a link. Clicking the link starts the default browser or email program. If you specify a character or symbol before or after the URL or email address, that character or symbol may also be included in the link.

Read
The Read JP1/Software Distribution Message dialog box appears. Using this dialog box, you can load a message text from the selected file in text format or HTML format. As long as the file to be read is in text or HTML format, there is no restriction on the extension.
If the number of characters to be loaded from the file exceeds the number of characters specifiable for the message test, only the character string that fits within the limit is loaded.

Preview
The content specified on the Report Message page is displayed in the message dialog box in the default size, enabling you to check how the message dialog box will appear at the job destination. For details about the formats of the displayed dialog boxes, see 2.13.3(1) Checking the displayed messages in the manual Description and Planning Guide.
If you loaded a text format file from the message dialog box that was displayed when you clicked the Preview button, and if you then click a character string in which a link has been set, the browser or mailer will not be started.
If you loaded an HTML format file, the default is that clicking a string in which a link has been set will start and display the specified browser.
