4.2.7 Creating a host group from count results

You can create a host group from the count results. You can create new host groups from those hosts that belong to the same category, or add them to an existing host group.

To create a host group from the count results:

  1. On the Count Result page, select the hosts you want to include in a group.
    In the Count pane, by selecting a key for counting hosts, you can select the hosts that belong to the key. You can also select hosts individually in the Details pane. On either pane, you can select more than one item at the same time.
  2. From the Execute menu, choose Create Host Group from Count.
    The Create Host Group from Count dialog box appears.

  3. To add hosts to an existing host group, select the host group. To create a new host group, click [Figure] to create a new host group and then select the new host group.
    You can use up to 32 characters for a host group name. You cannot use spaces or the following characters in a host group name:
    ! " % ' * . / : < > ? @ \ |
    Note that host group names are not case-sensitive.
  4. When you select an existing host group, you can replace all the existing hosts with the new hosts you selected in step 1 by selecting the Clear all the existing hosts in the selected host group check box.
    To add the hosts you selected in step 1 to the existing host group without removing the existing hosts, do not select this check box.
  5. Click the OK button.
    The selected hosts are added to the new host group or the existing host group you specified.
