The Change Installation Conditions dialog box contains pages determined by the package type. These are the same pages as displayed in the Software Distribution Packaging dialog box. For details about the settings, see 2.2 Specifying the packaging details. Note that the following information can be viewed but not changed:

Replace existing package
When this check box is selected and a client already contains software with the same name as the package you want to distribute, installation processing replaces the existing software with the package.
Note that when the Replace existing package check box is selected, the managing server sends the specified package regardless of whether or not the package has already been distributed to the client. To avoid unnecessarily increasing the network traffic, you should select this check box only under the following circumstances:
  • When it is necessary to replace an existing package.
  • When it is necessary to redistribute a package that has been uninstalled or deleted.
In such case, you can only install the package when this check box is selected.
When Replace existing package is selected, installation processing replaces software with the same version as the software to be installed even if their contents are different. When this happens, JP1/Software Distribution will be unable to manage the information of installed packages on the basis of versions.

(4) Setting a schedule for all packages

On the Package page, choosing Options displays the Batch Setting for Installation Conditions dialog box. You can specify in this dialog box the batch mode schedule information of the package installation conditions for all packages.
