6.1 Configuration procedure
After completing the installation of HA Monitor, a system administrator with the superuser permissions must configure the system.
This section explains the system configuration procedures from installation of HA Monitor, through specification of settings, to verification of system operation. Explanations are provided for three different cases, one that involves resetting of hosts, one that involves SCSI reservation, and one that involves using the function for controlling hot standby based on the availability of LAN communications.

Before starting system operation in the production environment, always perform the procedure described in 6.25 Checking the operation of the configured system. By performing this procedure, you can check whether the system has been configured correctly. If you start system operation in the production environment without performing this procedure, the system might fail to perform hot-standby switchover in the event of a failure. Never omit this procedure, or your job processing system might stop.
